Description:INFINIT HAS ISSUES WITH THEIR CONVERTIBLE TOP MECHANISM. THEY RUN A METAL TO PLASTIC GEAR THAT STRIPS AND FAILS. THIS CAUSES THE TOP TO SOMETIMES STOP MID CYCLE AND THROW AN ERROR CODE. THEN THE OWNER IS UNABLE TO SECURE THE TOP. I HAD TO DRIVE TO THE DEALER WITH THE TOP IN MID POSITION, NOT SAFE. FRANKLY NOR IS IT TO SAFE TO TOW IN THAT POSITION. IN MY CASE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME MORE THAT ONCE. IF ONE GOOGLES \"INFINITI CONVERTIBLE FLAP FAILURE\" YOU WILL SEE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE. INFINITI HASN'T REWORKED THE PARTS (CAR WAS CANCELLED) OR COVERED THE REPAIRS WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART. BETTER YET THESE REPAIRS ARE 2K PER OCCURRENCE TO RESOLVE. AND IN MY CASE FAIL EVERY OTHER YEAR.
