VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Description:About a dozen times the accelerator pedal sticks to the floor. The pedal stays depressed even when my foot is not on it anymore. The vehicle races uncontrollably as fast as it can. Occasionally a red warning light with a thunderbolt displays on the dash. I have not taken it to the dealer because it is no longer under warranty but, I have replaced the throttle body and it made no difference. Also I have checked the NHTS website for recalls. My original factory floor mat does not go under pedal so as not to be the culprit. When the pedal sticks to the floor I must place the toe of my shoe on the side of the the accelerator pedal and lift it up. This stops the acceleration and the red warning light goes off. The sticking pedal has occurred about a dozen times and has only happened over the last 18 months. The safety problem is becoming more frequent.
